More funds to recharge points
The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission (EC) have signed an agreement that will make it possible to combine EU grants and long-term EIB financing for alternative fuel infrastructure projects.
Over EUR 1.5 billion in EU grants will thus become available by the end of 2023 for alternative fuel infrastructure, including electric fast-charging and hydrogen refuelling stations on the TEN-T road network. The facilities will be implemented through a rolling call until 2023.
The Commission believes that the alternative fuel infrastructure facility will bring the EU a step closer to making its objectives a reality - 1 million recharging points by 2025 and 3.5 million by 2030. (ben)
