More flat cars for heavy containers
After winning an open tender, Russia-based United Wagon Company (UWC) completed and delivered 60 flat cars on bogies with an enhanced axle load to Transcontainer, Russia’s largest intermodal container operator. The rolling stock is designed for carrying heavy containers.
Transcontainer has now received 30 model 13-6851-05 flatcars, each 40 foot long, and 30 model 13-6903 flatcars, each 80 foot long. Both railcar types have innovative bogies with an axle load of 25 t capable of carrying freight containers and tank containers up to 36 t.
Transcontainer currently owns more than 25,900 flat cars and more than 67,850 heavy containers. (ben)
