More cross-border rail/road infrastructure
Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania have decided to boost trilateral transport and digital connectivity, as stated in a joint declaration recently signed by the prime ministers of the three countries.
The signatories agreed to identify and develop new routes/corridors on the North-South axis connecting the three countries through new rail and motorway infrastructure.
As a next step, a trilateral working group will be established which shall prepare the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the financing, development, construction, and management of a multimodal transport corridor linking the three countries.
The prime ministers also renewed their call to absorb Bulgaria and Romania into the EU's border-free Schengen area in 2023. (ben) www.primeminister.gr www.gov.bg www.gov.ro
