More capacity on the ground and in the air
A Boeing B767-300 has arrived in Singapore for a P2F conversion to be carried out by ST Engineering. It will subsequently join Icelandair Cargo in October.
The aircraft will be acquired on lease from AerCap, which had previously leased it to TUI Airways. Another converted B767F should arrive in November. Icelandair Cargo currently operates two B757-200 freighters, one of which was also converted.
One month earlier, construction began on expanding an Icelandair Cargo warehouse in Keflavík. The addition to the north end of the building, which includes a significant increase in cooling capacity, expands its handling space from 560 to 930 sqm.
The project is due to be completed in September and the premises scheduled to come back on stream just before the carrier welcomes its new main-deck capacities. (ah)
