More capacity on Ireland-Belgium loop
Finnlines is strengthening its Ireland–Belgium freight service to meet growing demand. By adding a second ro-ro vessel, “MS Finnpulp”, the liner is raising the capacity on the direct connection between Ireland and the European mainland. The additional unit will depart from Zeebrugge on 23 February 2023 for the first time.
Finnlines launched the new service between Rosslare and Zeebrugge in July 2022. The response, especially from Irish transport operators, has been positive.
Via transhipment in Zeebrugge, the Irish connection is also available to the Finnish, German, Estonian and Spanish industries as well as the whole Grimaldi Group network. “MS Finnpulp” has a capacity for almost 3,260 lane metres of cargo, equivalent to around 225 trailers. (sh)
