More capacity for Medkon Lines
The Pendik-Istanbul based Turkish shipping company Medkon Lines has acquired its largest vessel to date, from Sea Consortium.
The company invested approximately USD 4 million for the boxship “X-Press Brahmaputra”, which has a container capacity of more than 1,160 teu. The unit was built in 1997. The containership will be renamed “Medkon Mira”.
Medkon Lines now operates a fleet of 13 vessels. The shipping line’s eight services include loops to the ports of Alexandria, Ashdodod, Damietta, Rades, Beirut and Novorossiysk. (sh)
