More capacity between Germany, Sweden and Finland

Samskip has added over 10% more capacity to its multimodal connections between Germany and Scandinavia with the launch of three-times weekly block train services in cooperation with Hector Rail.

The all-electric train links the Duisburg Hohenbudberg terminal and the Rostock Trimodal terminal for coordination with the port’s ro-ro ferry services.

Departing from Duisburg on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the 700 m long trains arrive in Rostock the following day to link up with Hansa Destination ferry connections to Nynäshamn (south of Stockholm).

The new rail link also offers additional service options directly into southern Sweden and Finland in combination with daily ferry departures. (ben)
