More belly capacity for Angolan airline
Taag Angola Airlines is adding the 787 Dreamliner to its fleet with an order for four widebody jets. The Southwest African carrier currently flies eight B777s 737-700s and six Dash 8-400 to twelve destinations in Africa, Europe, South America, and China.
Founded in 1938 and based in Luanda, Taag's fleet also allows air cargo services which have become essential for the country's development.
CEO Eduardo Fairen: "Our goal is to work with the best manufacturers in the world towards a multitype fleet, in order to ensure we have the appropriate airplanes for each flight typology, namely our intercontinental connections."
Anbessie Yitbarek, Boeing VP of commercial sales and marketing for Africa: "The B787 will enable Taag to open new routes and expand its international network." (ah)
