More agricultural transports to China

The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) have decided to strengthen their cooperation in the international rail and multimodal transport sector. The member states Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia signed an agreement to this effect at the Eastern Forum in Vladivostok (Russia).

The focus is on the "Eurasia Agroexpress" project, which aims to speed up and increase deliveries of agricultural projects to the Chinese market. One part of the plan is to establish regular block train services, RZD Logistics said.

The Agroexpress project was launched by Russia with the first Russia-China container train in 2019. Since then, the Agroexpress has been sporadically supplying China and other Asian countries with agricultural products. (ben)
