More aero engines via Hong Kong and Singapore

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), is making a bid to increase Hong Kong’s involvement in the movement of aero engines by setting up a new aero engine handling centre at the airport.

Handling already an average of two units per day, which often weigh over 8 t and are valued at over USD 20 million, the largest independent handler locally believes that enhanced facilities and streamlined procedures can help to attract more of this traffic to and through Hong Kong.

In Singapore, aerospace logistics provider B&H Worldwide is further expanding the scope of its specialist services with the introduction of JetCell storage systems.

Designed to deliver long-term protection for jet engines in storage the system creates a moisture-free, regulated and controlled environment around the equipment. (ah)
