Monday's the day for new Chicago - Sydney service
DB Schenker has launched its "direct express – Australia" service using the 102 t cargo capacity of a B777-300F which a non-specified airline partner schedules every Monday from Chicago IL (USA) to Sydney.
"No other freight forwarder provides a faster freighter service from the US Midwest to Australia, making this service ideally suited for the automotive, industrial and pharmaceutical industries," said DB Schenker in an announcement.
Chicago O'Hare airport (ORD) has just become the busiest airport in the world for total flights (>900,000), the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) underlined, relying on the preliminary airport traffic rankings released by Airports Council International (ACI).
According to ACI, among the world's airports, ORD is ranked 18th in terms of total cargo volumes (+2) with 1.87 million t (+3.6%). (ah)
