Mol and Be Forward sign mou
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Mol) has signed a five-year mou with Be Forward to implement a book and claim system for used car shipments to Africa.
Be Forward has thus become the first customer to adopt this initiative and furthermore agrees to use LNG-fuelled vessels ”to promote the decarbonisation of marine transport.” Through this agreement, Be Forward can claim GHG reduction value-linked to Mol’s LNG fleet as its own certified reduction.
This partnership is in line with Mol’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2050, which the company wants to achieve by building new LNG-fuelled car carriers and pursuing initiatives that reduce emissions for its stakeholders and society as a whole, as is the case as with this new partnership with Be Forward.
