Mobile harbour crane acquisitions in 2018
Liebherr Maritime Cranes sold 83 mobile harbour cranes in 40 countries in 2018. That gave the company an estimated market share of up to 66% in the mobile harbour crane segment.
The major clients were, inter alia, Qube Ports in Tasmania (Australia) and the Belgium port worker-training centre Ocha. Karmsund Havn IKS purchased an LHM 550, the biggest mobile harbour crane in Norway, for use in the new Haugesund Cargo Terminals in Husøy.
Yilport Holding, a subsidiary of Yildrim Group, recently acquired a multi-purpose terminal in Quetzal (Guatemala), and purchased two LHM 600s for the facility. Ocupa received an LHM 800 in container handling configuration for its Manzanillo terminal (Mexico).
Salerno Container Terminal (SCT), owned by the Gallozzi SpA Group, received an LHM 600 and an LHM 800. The LHM 420 was again one of the most sought-after devices in 2018 (kd)
