Middle Eastern carrier takes another digital step
Etihad Cargo claims that it has gained a prominent position in the field of air cargo digitalisation and innovation six months after migrating to a new technology platform.
Last year, the Abu Dhabi (UAE)-based carrier embarked on a strategy to introduce several transformation programmes across processes, fleet and network. Concerning its digital infrastructures, this culminated in the migration to the IBS "iCargo" solution in October 2018.
Since the inauguration of the platform, Etihad has managed a distribution channel shift and accepted 14.4% of its total bookings online. Additionally, in March it achieved the most successful performance yet with 16.7% of bookings coming through the online portal, surpassing all records for similar portal launches for any other cargo carrier.
