Mexicans anticipate flight tracking regulation
Estafeta, a Mexican logistics service provider that operates a fleet of six B737F, has chosen an ADB-B solution from GKN Fokker Services. The deadline of the new "automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast" mandate, a surveillance technology in which an aircraft determines its position via satellite navigation and periodically broadcasts it, is 2020.
In need of a solution with standalone GPS, and flying a fleet with different configurations, the airline had to search for a tailored solution.
After an information exchange phase, GKN Fokker Services and Estafeta began working closely together to guarantee the timely installation of a solution that fits all requirements. Estafeta has also purchased the traffic alert and collision avoidance system 7.1 (TCAS7.1) modification from its partner. (ah)
