Metso's new Chilean centre
Metso, a logistics provider for the minerals and mining industry, has opened its new distribution hub in Vina del Mar, Chile, marking a further expansion into the South American market.
From the new centre, Metso will be able to increase its distribution capacities for equipment and spare parts. The new space complements the company’s existing operations in Concón, where it recently inaugurated a manufacturing and recycling plant for rubber liners. The site in Vina del Mar has a larger storage capacity and will thus be able to keep up with local customer demand.
Focusing on sustainability, Metso will use renewable energies and returnable/alternative packaging solutions at this site. Coupled with fully electric vehicles in its fleet, the new hub will help Metso enhance sustainability in the mining industry. (mk)
