Metrans to expand its Linz service
Following the export connection with the Slovenian port of Koper and the import link with northern ports, Metrans will also expand its Linz service with an export train link from the Austrian terminal Linz to the German northern ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven from 13 December 2019.
The new train will be operated in two different variations from the Linz terminal: Once a week the train will run directly to the port of Hamburg and twice a week there will be a direct service to the ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven.
With these new options, the rail operator can offer viable solutions to an urgent demand for shipments to both destinations by direct train, as well as the possibility of ten days of free storage in its own terminals, Metrans says. (ben)
