Methamphetamine at the Mexican border

US Customs (CBP) officers have seized 56 kg of methamphetamine at the US border. Officers were alerted to the case on  17 June, when a man attempted to enter the USA from Mexico in a pickup truck.

After examining the car, 102 packages of methamphetamine were found in the spare tire, quarter panels, and passenger side doors. Upon discovering the illegal shipment, CBP seized the narcotics and turned the driver over to Homeland Security Investigations.

As part of Operation Apollo, which has been in place since last October, CBP is attempting to counter fentanyl trade and smuggling at the US-Mexico border in California and Arizona. (mk)
