Messaggerie Libri extends contract with Ceva Logistics
Ceva Logistics has further strengthened its position in the Italian books market with the renewal of a long-standing contract with Milan-headquartered Messaggerie Libri (Me.Li) - the country's leading distributor of editorial products. More than 600 publishing brands partner with Me.Li, which has over 4,000 nationwide bookshops and stationery stores.
The two companies have been working in close collaboration since they signed their first contract in 1999, and this new contract is extended to the end of December 2021. It also includes provision to negotiate a further long-term deal. City of Books itself is a green supply chain facility dedicated to the publishing sector. Covering more than 80,000 sqm, it can handle over 90 million books per annum.
The site includes a photovoltaic plant with over 35,000 modules, covering an area of 6,500 sqm. This translates into 3,780 MWh annually, the equivalent to energy generated in 2,000 homes, saving on average of 1.6 million kg of CO2 emissions. (mw)
