Mass production of XD and XF Electric ready to go
The road haulage company DAF is expanding its production facilities with a new electric truck assembly factory in Eindhoven (Netherlands), where the production of the new generation DAF XD and XF Electric is set to commence this spring.
These fully electric vehicles provide a range of over 500 'emission-free' kilometres, which represents an important step in DAF’s endeavour to further reduce the ecological impact of road transport.
The company expects production to rise to several thousand vehicles per annum over the next few years, in line with the increasing demand for fully electric trucks. The basis for each new generation of electric DAF truck is a so-called glider, a chassis without a driveline but with a cab. (ben)
