Maskargo flies panda cubs home to China
Maskargo, the air cargo arm of Malaysia Aviation Group, successfully flew panda cubs Yi Yi and Sheng Yi back to their new home at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China via flight MH6476 which departed KL International Airport at 22:45 h on 29 August 2023.
Almost ten years ago, Maskargo successfully transported parents Fu Wa and Feng Yi, from Chengdu to Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China.
The cubs, weighing 106 kg and 81 kg respectively, were transported onboard Maskargo ’s A330-200 freighter which arrived at Shuanglin Airport at 3:05 h local time. While the world was under quarantine, another female panda cub, Sheng Yi, was born in May 2021. (cj)
