Marseille Fos investing in blockchain technology
The Marseille Fos port authority is investing in a blockchain technology pilot scheme that aims to demonstrate enhanced freight logistics on the Mediterranean-Rhone-Saone (MeRS) axis in France. The pilot project was launched at a seminar hosted by the French port.
Due to go on stream in June, the proof of the concept prototype will test the securitisation of the digital transport chain as a means of improving the fluidity, reliability and competitiveness of intermodal pre- and post-forwarding on the hinterland axis. The blockchain solution will give certified users direct access to protected documentation.
The pilot scheme will be implemented by three companies – Marseille Gyptis International (MGI), the cargo tracker BuyCo and blockchain solutions specialist KeeeX. (kd)
