Market for work textiles booming
Velilla Group will open the largest logistics centre for work textiles in Spain in 2024. The multinational family-owned company is planning to double the size of its facility in Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha.
The group currently runs a 56,000 sqm logistics centre where more than 10 million garments are stored and more than 250,000 orders are delivered each year. With this expansion, the facility will be able to store and deliver more than 24 million garments from next year.
The company has grown rapidly over the past ten years, with sales increasing by 10% to 12% annually. Velilla Group has also registered an exponential growth in the number of orders and customers, with the group posting a record turnover of EUR 85 million in 2022.
To meet this rise in demand, work processes have been accelerated and 128 new jobs have been created. All in all, the company’s workforce has increased by 168% in recent years: by 43% in Albacete, by 39% at the Madrid headquarters and by 18% in Portugal. (ben)
