Marin EV begins trials for electric cargo vessel
Yinson Greentech's Marin EV has commenced commercial trials of Singapore's first fully electric cargo vessel, “Hydromover”.
Developed by the Goal Zero Consortium and funded by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and the Singapore Maritime Institute, the 18.5 m zero-emission vessel can carry up to 25 t of cargo. It features swappable batteries, reducing operational and maintenance costs.
Six potential partners have expressed interest in electrifying their fleets, with the trials supporting Singapore’s 2050 net-zero emissions goal for harbour crafts. Interested parties can join the trials by contacting Marin EV. (pb)
