Marcura Group buys ShipServ
The Marcura Group has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ShipServ, a maritime online procurement platform and marketplace. The strategic acquisition marks a milestone for both companies, which aim to combine their expertise and provide a broadened solutions portfolio for the blue economy.
ShipServ's 126 employees will join Marcura's 850, serving a combined customer base of 800 blue-chip maritime customers and a network of 47,000 suppliers globally. The combination is intended to drive joint product development and enhance value for the customer base.
ShipServ's CEO, Henrik Hyldahn, emphasised the advantages of becoming part of a larger family of renowned brands and solutions that share a common mission to drive innovation within the maritime industry.
The aim of the takeover is to accelerate network adoption and reinforce Marcura's positioning within a wider platform. ShipServ will continue to operate as a separate company, maintaining its own brand identity. (pb)
