Manning supports 2022 Special Olympics airlift
While the (sports) world is eagerly awaiting the Olympic Games in Tokyo and commemorating the founding of the International Olympic Committee in Paris on 23 June 1894 on today's "Olympic Day", Textron Aviation has appointed Peyton Manning to promote the 2022 Special Olympics Airlift.
The quarterback has signed on as honorary chair of the event, encouraging aircraft owners to participate in the airlift scheduled to transport thousands of athletes and coaches to the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, FL, 5-12 June 2022.
Manning’s role will especially help the company recruit Cessna Citation, Beechcraft King Air, Beechcraft Premier, Beechjet and Hawker owners and operators to transport them. This event, which will be held for the eighth time next year, is a signature community event organised by Textron Aviation, which belongs to multi-industry company Textron, which leverages its global network of aircraft, defence, industrial and finance businesses to provide customers with solutions and services.
Starting his professional football career in 1998 as the first overall draft pick, Manning retired in 2015, following the season with two Super Bowl rings and as the only five-time MVP.
He and his wife, Ashley Manning, established the PeyBack Foundation in 1999 to promote the future success of disadvantaged youth by assisting programmes that provide leadership and growth opportunities for children at risk. (amh)
