Managing 500,000 shipments by 2024
Contract logistics specialist ID Logistics is extending its Ideo control tower in Europe with the creation of a subsidiary in Poland. The new location will add about thirty more supply chain managers to Ideo’s network, which is based in Saint-Priest, France.
From 2024, Ideo will manage more than 500,000 transport orders (TO) per year (compared to 280,000 in 2022), representing more than EUR 500 million in annual transport purchases for a dozen major European shippers, the company said.
With the optimisation and pooling of cargo flows, co-logistics is an efficient response to the three major concerns of logistics today: shortage of resources, good control and lowering of costs as well as reduction of environmental impact.
ID Logistics subsidiary Ideo has set up a control tower to design and manage a co-logistics system that combines the flows of different customers in Europe to maximise potentials for optimisation and pooling. (ben)
