Managers rotate at orange giant
The Austrian logistics company, Gebrüder Weiss (GW), has filled two key positions since the start of 2019. Hannes Mayr was selected for the role of regional manager west. This region includes the economically strong areas of Tyrol, Voralberg and the business in Switzerland.
Mayr's goal is to strengthen and expand GW’s' position in his region. Mayr is well-known in Tyrol as he led the local Gebrüder Weiss branch office for twelve years. He will be succeeded by Günter Schmarl, who has served the company for 30 years.
As regional manager west manager, Schmarl is responsible for three Gebrüder Weiss locations in Halle, Wörgl and Innsbruck in the Tyrol area. With a workforce of around 250 people, the Tyrol facilities concentrate on intermodal transport, services for automotive and heavy industries, as well as on expanding traffic to/from Italy. (mw)
