MAN builds first trucks with hydrogen drive
The German commercial vehicle manufacturer will deliver the small series, initially planned with around 200 units, to customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Iceland and selected non-European countries as early as 2025. It is the first European truck manufacturer to launch a small series with a hydrogen combustion engine, the company says.
The HTGX, as the new model is called, is particularly suitable for special applications, for example for transporting heavy goods – tanks, timber, or materials for construction work. It can also be an eco-friendly alternative to battery-electric trucks for use in areas without an adequate charging infrastructure, where sufficient hydrogen is already available. (ben) www.man. (ben)
