Malungsfors terminal joins Green Cargo’s network
The Swedish carrier will add the terminal, which is located approximately 350 km from Gothenburg, to its network in December 2023. This will directly benefit the forestry logistics company Träfraktkontoret for which Green Cargo handles transports by rail.
Initially, the shipments will include several container trains per week to the Port of Gothenburg, but timetables are in place to offer five weekly departures in future.
Previously, Fiskarhedens Trävaru, a sawmill, had a weekly rail container shuttle. With the new terminal in Green Cargo’s network, the number of departures will triple. Furthermore, when the Malungsfors terminal also becomes a new tariff point in the network, Fiskarheden will be able to shift more freight from trailers to rail for its transports to other countries in Europe.
