Making railfreight more transparent and efficient
Austria’s Innofreight is digitising its entire fleet. The rail logistics provider, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, is using state-of-the-art technology to make railfreight safer on Europe’s rail networks. The rolling stock is being digitised by the Swiss software company Nexxiot.
Innofreight operates 230 block trains in Europe every day and currently has a fleet of 2,700 wagons and 23,000 containers in service.
To date, more than 1,000 of the wagons have been equipped with Nexxiot's asset intelligence technology. The system can be used to collect data that improves transparency, efficiency and productivity, Innofreight says. (ben)
