Making it big in Kentucky
It is indeed a big addition to the network. Amazon's new hub in Northern Kentucky features a 244,000 sqm-sortation facility built on a campus that includes seven additional buildings, a new ramp for aircraft parking and a multi-storey vehicle parking structure. The company invested USD 1.5 billion in the project.
From now on, the Amazon Air Hub, which is located at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, will be the centre of the company's American cargo network. The hub will eventually operate a dozen flights per day and process millions of packages every week. (sh)
