Major logistics project shaping up well
An industrial zone that focuses on e-commerce and logistics is to be built on the former Cambrai-Epinoy military airfield in northern France.
The project - named E-Valley - recently overcame a big hurdle. The neighbouring municipalities of Haynecourt, Épinoy and Sauchy-Lestrée granted planning permission for an e-commerce distribution centre to the Paris-based property company BT-Immo.
When the facility is ready, some 1,500 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs will be created on the 355 ha site. BT-Immo said that the first buildings should be completed in spring 2020. The ex-airfield has good connections to the French road network and is close to the Canal du Nord. (mw)
