MAF now in Guinea

Guinea is the 27th country in which Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is providing air services to reach people living in remote regions.

Pilot Emil Kündig from Switzerland, one of the 17 MAF resource countries, did the administrative groundwork in preparation for the project. He also piloted a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, one of MAF's 120 small aircraft, in a five-day overflight from the former project country Uganda to Conakry.

In accordance with the concept of the worldwide aid organisation founded in the 1940s, simple but safe airstrips were built in inaccessible areas of the West African country. In the first phase of the flight operations, which have now started, seven different locations will be approached. Besides patients, the aircraft will transport medical material and relief and educational supplies. (ah)
