Maersk's Med choice
Maersk has selected Mito, Grendi Group's container terminal in Cagliari (Italy), to distribute cargo quickly from and to North Africa, leveraging the Sardinian port's strategic Mediterranean location.
Mito's dual lo-lo and ro-ro operations, advanced logistics, and efficient cargo handling systems, such as cassette-translifters, offer significant operational benefits. This has improved connections with Mediterranean regions, cutting fuel consumption, costs, and CO2 emissions.
The terminal's facilities and workforce handled 60,000 teu and 65 port calls in its first year, with growth expected to continue. (pb)
