Maersk explains withdrawal from Russia
How does a big logistics player get out of its Russian and Belarussian business? Maersk has now explained its line of action. The carrier's offices in Far East Russia, Novorossiysk and Kaliningrad are expected to close down during the summer of 2022. The Saint Petersburg and Moscow office however will run until the end of the year. Maersk's Belarus office will also be shut down during the summer.
Maersk said in a press release with regards to regionally "affected cargo we have done our utmost to deliver it to initially planned end-destinations or to offer a change of destination where practicable, legally allowed and reasonable for our customers. However, for some customers this has not been possible despite our efforts." (sh)
