Lufthansa Cargo creates KTW base
Since yesterday, 4 January 2021, Lufthansa Cargo consolidates freight from various locations in Poland, including from Lviv, Koszyce and Ostrava, at Katowice airport (KTW).
Lufthansa Cargo is, in addition to DHL Express, UPS, Fedex/TNT and Amazon, the next big operator who will conduct regular business in the cargo terminal at KTW. The airport in South Poland is the country's largest regional cargo airport.
In 2019, over 20,000 t of cargo were transported from and to KTW. In 2020 despite the coronavirus pandemic, the airport operator expected to close with similar results. (ah)
