LOT chooses Delhi for return to India
25 years after LOT Polish Airlines stopped its scheduled services to India - Mumbai was a destination until 1982, the airline flew to Delhi (via Tashkent) from 1985 to 1992 - the member of Star Alliance launched a five times weekly service between Warsaw and the Indian capital last week.
The airline will deploy its flagship, the two “Dreamliner” aircraft B787-8 and B787-9, which have a lower deck cargo capacity of 136 cbm or172 cbm, respectively.
On the basis of a bilateral agreement between Poland and India, LOT has greater plans for the market. Besides increasing the number of roundtrips for the Delhi service, the airline is also interested in other destinations such as Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata. (ah)
