Longest route for American Airlines and Brisbane
American Airlines has now added Brisbane as its second destination in Australia, with the Dallas/Fort Worth route being the longest by distance in both the airline’s global network and on Brisbane airport’s growing network map.
Starting with five B787-9 flights per week in each direction, American Airlines will increase to daily flights from December through to the end of March.
In FY24 the USA was the #1 trading partner for freight in the belly of passenger aircraft at BNE, with daily exports to the USA averaging 10 t, primarily consisting of beef, fresh seafood, fruit, vegetables and cosmetics. Imports from the USA averaged 17 t per day, including machinery, mining equipment and electric car parts. The expansion of American Airlines to Brisbane is expected to further boost freight capacity.
