London Gateway expansion approved
Thurrock council has approved a new ten-year local development order (LDO) to support the expansion of DP World’s ‘London Gateway Logistics Park’. The LDO streamlines planning, allowing new developments to be approved in 28 days.
DP World has developed half of its 9 million sqft site, with the extension enabling the utilisation of the remaining spaces. This year, the park welcomed its first two manufacturing tenants, Destiny Entertainments and Ranson. All new buildings there meet Breeam’s ‘outstanding’ standards, according to DP world.
Alan Holland, CEO of DP World London Gateway Logistics Park, highlighted the transport links that combine with the LDO “to make the London Gateway Logistics Park well-placed to continue our rapid growth.” Located in the ‘Thames Freeport’, the park offers tax incentives to businesses. A previous ten-year LDO led to 17 new facilities and 1,500 jobs, according to the company. (js)
