Logistics playing for Schneider
Wisconsin-based Schneider, a provider of truckload, intermodal and logistics services, has reported its results in 2020. Total revenues were at USD 4.55 billion, down 4% compared to 2019.
Nevertheless, the income from operations surged by a significant 38% to USD 286.7 million. Schneider’s business segments witnessed a mixed bag of results.
While truckload and intermodal revenues went down, logistics saw an uptick in comparison to 2019. Truckload remains the largest segment, accounting for 40% of revenues. This segment’s revenues for 2020 were at USD 1.85 billion, a decrease of or 10.9% or USD 225.8 million.
Intermodal revenues amounted to USD 974.7 million, losing 3.3% to USD 33.1 million. Logistics revenues for 2020 however were at USD 1.1 billion, an increase of USD 194.5 million or 20.8%. The rise was due to volume growth and increased revenue through yield actions.
Logistics income from operations for 2020 was USD 43.1 million, a surge of USD 5.8 million or 15.5% compared to the prior year. (sh)
