Logistics platform to boost trade in Abu Dhabi
AD Ports Group’s digital arm, Maqta Gateway, has signed an agreement with the general administration of customs, Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi department of economic development (Added).
The advanced trade and logistics platform (ATLP) will provide digital customs services for shipments traded in and out of Abu Dhabi.
Ali Hussain Makki, Added's executive director, logistics and trade facilitation sector: "This agreement ensures that the logistics programme will continue to provide an outstanding experience for traders, contributing to sustainable economic progress for Abu Dhabi and UAE."
Inspections will be carried out for Atlp, making its work more efficient and transparent, so that merchants and stakeholders will be able to oversee the clearance of their goods at every stage. Advanced clearance notifications will help reduce transit times and provide a unified view of trade through Abu Dhabi. (lh)
