Logistics hall of fame honours inventors
Huge cheers and thunderous applause in the Erich Klausener Hall of Germany’s ministry for digital and transport in Berlin. Raffaello D'Andrea, Mick Mountz and Peter Wurman (pictured from left to right), the three founders of Kiva Systems, were officially inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame.
More than 200 international guests from business, science, non-governmental organisations and politics honoured the achievements of the inventors of the mobile robotic fulfilment system in intralogistics, which enables many e-commerce companies to complete same-day, efficient and error-free goods deliveries with the help of autonomous mobile robots (AMR).
Hartmut Hoeppner, state secretary at the ministry for digital and transport: “The trio succeeded in the excellent management of dozens of robots in a confined space.” (cj)
