Logistics for disinfectants
Loxxess and Paul Hartmann AG, a provider of system solutions for medicine and healthcare, swiftly expanded their distribution services in order to meet the sharp growth in the demand for disinfectants.
At the start of the Covid-19 crisis, Hartmann and Loxxess immediately began to develop comprehensive measures to keep their delivery promises in spite of exploding order numbers. Loxxess switched from a single-shift to a double-shift operation, extended its working hours to include Saturdays and public holidays and was able to double its staff at short notice.
Achim Sinn, senior vice president supply chain at Hartmann: "Loxxess responded optimally to our multi-facetted and short-term requirements so that we had no trouble dealing with spikes in demand. We also carried out structural improvements and upgraded our equipment so that we are adequately prepared for new increases." (mw)
