Logistics colloquium in Zurich
Lectures at the 36th Zurich Logistics Colloquium focussed on autonomous trains and emission-free trucks. The annual event, attended by 111 participants this year, is held by Dr. Ing. Acél & Partner in collaboration with ETH Zurich.
Markus Bruderer, assembly manager at Stadler Bussnang, gave a talk entitled “Digital Intelligence at Stadler Rail.” His factory specializes in very small series and prototypes. The digitalisation of rail vehicles – and their production and operation - takes place at almost all levels.
Daniel Gebler, who works for the commercial vehicle manufacturer MAN, a VW Group member, spoke about "Logistics of the future – the future of logistics."
Sustainability was another major topic. According to Gebler, the VW Group’s current vehicles generate about 1% of the CO2 emissions worldwide. Electric vehicles were then presented as a solution. (mw)
