Lödige equips mega hub at Istanbul Airport
Lödige Industries completed the new fully automated terminal for Turkish Cargo recently. At the new location at Istanbul Airport, one of the largest and busiest cargo terminals in the world, has been built on a total area of around 300,000 sqm, offering a handling capacity of four million t per year.
With the completion of the new cargo hub, Turkish Cargo has moved its operations from Ataturk Airport to the new Istanbul Airport, more than tripling its capacity.
The new terminal offers automated high-bay warehouses with 17,000 storage locations, 30 stacking cranes, 15 lifts and an integrated warehouse management system with direct interface to customer and freight management systems. (cj)
