LNG for Croatia on the move

Croatia has received another cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the Krk terminal in the northern Adriatic, the first LNG delivery from MET Croatia. The 145,000 cbm LNG vessel Methane Nile Eagle, loaded at the port of Zeebrugge in Belgium, arrived at the end of April. This shipment is the fifth LNG cargo Croatia has imported so far and the first to come from an EU port. Croatian gas supplier MET Croatia Energy Trade, part of the Swiss-based energy company MET Group, has booked a total capacity of 2.67 billion cbm at the Krk LNG terminal for seven years. This is MET's first delivery to Krk itself. In November 2020, MET also delivered the commissioning cargo for the LNG Croatia floating storage and re-gasification vessel at Sagunto (Spain). Before the end of October 2021, two more LNG consignments will be delivered to the Krk terminal by MET Croatia. The LNG terminal project cost EUR 233 million, with the European Union contributing EUR 101 million. (cd)www.group.met.com
