Lithuanian forwarder to test CNG truck
The logistics company Vlantana is partnering the gas infrastructure developer, Scania SG dujos, to test the first gas-fuelled truck in Lithuania.
The Scania R 410 with its 13 l gas engine is being tested on Vlantana’s local and regional routes. Fuelling CNG in Lithuania is currently more than 40% cheaper in comparison with diesel.
The CNG trials are also seen as a forerunner to the forthcoming availability of LNG, with the first natural gas filling station due to open next year.
“The Scania CNG gas truck provides us with a great opportunity to become a front runner in sustainable transport,” says Vlantana CEO Vladas Stončius. (ben)
