L.I.T opens trailer yard for car manufacturer
The freight forwarder L.I.T. (Logistics, Information, Transport) has inaugurated a trailer yard with room for more than 170 swap bodies at the Port of Hamburg in Germany. The facility serves as a buffer warehouse for the supply of production materials for a German car manufacturer.
All in all, L.I.T.’s new location measures 20,000 sqm. The 14,000 sqm outdoor area offers space for more than 170 swap bodies and the site also includes a 5,000 sqm warehouse.
L.I.T. employs around 3,900 people at 101 locations in 14 countries. Its service portfolio comprises national and international transport, air and sea freight handling, warehouse logistics, fleet management, personnel logistics and IT services. It owns owns a total of 550,000 sqm of warehouse space and a fleet of 1,400 trucks, 4,000 swap bodies and 1,100 trailers. The group generated a turnover of EUR 740 million in 2021. (ben)
