Linking Mali
Established in July last year, Sky Mali plans to add the first international destinations later this month. Until now, its network is limited to five domestic airports (Bamako, Gao, Kayes and Timbuktu).
The new carrier in this landlocked country which is "a public limited company incorporated under Malian law", a 100% subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi-based investment holding Sayegh Group, aims to connect Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Conakry (Guinea), Cotonou (Benin), Dakar (Senegal), Niamey (Niger), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) in West Africa, together with Libreville (Gabon), Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville (Congo) in Central Africa.
Sky Mali started operations with a B737-500 and soon added an ERJ-145, with a second Embraer and several ATR 72 to follow. (ah)
